They showed up in scrubs and stethoscopes like they owned the place, so we just let them join the team. 😂

✨ Celebrating 40 Years of Dedication ✨

Today we celebrate Ingrid’s retirement after an extraordinary 40 years at Cedar Crest.

When asked what she will miss the most, Ingrid didn’t hesitate:
“The love and the hugs.” 🤍
When asked what she won’t miss, she smiled and said:
“The computer — it gets in the way of seeing my patients.”

That says everything about who she is — a caregiver whose heart has always come first.

One of her grateful patients wrote this poem for her, capturing just how quickly the years pass when a life is spent helping others. We’re honored to share it here:

“It Goes By Fast”

Written by one of Ingrid’s patients

Forty years has gone by—oh! so fast.
It seems it would never last.

Just think of it and I wonder why
I’ve stayed in one place so long.

Another ring and it’s the phone again.
It rings forever over and over—
Must be at least 10,000 calls so far.

The questions I’ve answered from A thru Z
Could fill a book 1,000 pages long.

My reason to retire means a normal weekend life—
One not full of stress.

So here I go, I’m on my way
‘Cause sooner or later, it be my time to play.
