Did anyone else grow up constantly hearing:

Hereโ€™s the thing โ€” that cue was never wrong.

It was just missing the starting point.

๐Ÿฆด The pelvis (Latin for basin) holds organs, fluid, and pressure.

โžก๏ธ the lumbar spine increases its curve (hyperlordosis)
โžก๏ธ the rib cage flares up and forward
โžก๏ธ the shoulders round and drift forward

So when someone tells you to โ€œpull your shoulders backโ€โ€ฆ youโ€™re trying to correct the top of the chain without addressing the foundation.

If youโ€™ve been told prolapse means you need to ๐ฌ๐ช๐ฎ๐ž๐ž๐ณ๐ž ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐๐ž๐ซ, ๐›๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ž ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ž, ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ โ€œ๐๐จ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ค๐ž๐ ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฌโ€โ€”pause for a second.

Prolapse is rarely a pure weakness problem. More often, itโ€™s a ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž + ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง problem.

When the tissues of the ๐š๐›๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง, ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ๐ฌ, ๐ฉ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ ๐Ÿ๐ฅ๐จ๐จ๐ซ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐š๐ฉ๐ก๐ซ๐š๐ ๐ฆ are tight or stuck, pressure has nowhere to goโ€ฆ so it moves ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐ง๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐.

Skipping conservative care means skipping the root causes that often remain even after surgery.

Prolapse care should be:

โ€ข Inhale into the ribs and back
โ€ข Long, slow exhales to soften and melt tension

This isnโ€™t about โ€œcore work.โ€

Itโ€™s about restoring movement, elasticity, and pressure balance.

When the diaphragm can move:
โœ”๏ธ Pelvic floor gripping decreases
โœ”๏ธ Downward pressure reduces
โœ”๏ธ Breathing gets deeper

When you sneeze, pressure rapidly increases in the abdomen.

A healthy pelvic floor should:

โ€ข Lengthen ๐˜ด๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜บ
โ€ข React ๐˜ฒ๐˜ถ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ฌ๐˜ญ๐˜บ
โ€ข Coordinate with the diaphragm and deep core
โ€ข Absorb and redirect force โ€” not brace against it

But what do most women get told?

โŒ โ€œDo kegels.โ€
โŒ โ€œTighten everything.โ€
โŒ โ€œHold your core on.โ€

That actually makes things worse for many people.

Over-tension, poor timing, breath holding, scar tissue (C-section or vaginal), chronic stress, fascia restriction, and nervous system dysregulation all interfere with the pelvic floorโ€™s ability to ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฑ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฒ.

So when you sneezeโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ’ฅ Pressure spikes

๐Ÿšซ The pelvic floor canโ€™t adapt fast enough

โžก๏ธ Leakage happens

That doesnโ€™t mean your pelvic floor is weak.
