CARING KIND AWARD WINNER: Congratulations Ryan Gallagher of Overland Rehab.
Ryan Gallagher, physical therapist/certified athletic trainer, is the 2026 Caring Kind Award Winner of Antelope Memorial Hospital. He was recognized for this prestigious award on Tuesday, May 12th during National Hospital Week.
Each year, the Nebraska Hospital Association honors employees from hospitals across the state as “Caring Kind” employees. The honored employee must exemplify the spirit of someone who gives that “something special” to others.
Ryan began providing physical therapy services eight years ago at AMH through Overland Rehab Services. He also serves as director of the AMH Physical Therapy and Wellness Departments.
This spring, Ryan was nominated and selected by his fellow employees to win AMH’s “caring kind” award. His nomination describes him as an individual who consistently demonstrates compassion, professionalism and teamwork. He truly lives AMH’s mission of “healing body, mind and spirit”. He shows these qualities in every role he serves – as a co-worker, supervisor and healthcare professional. He is known by his patients for his informative, caring and calm demeanor. Many former physical therapy patients still stop in to say hello or share how well they’re doing and to thank him for his past help.
Ryan also creates a positive and supportive work environment by encouraging professional growth, celebrating special occasions with co-workers and always taking a hands-on approach to help others succeed. And when help is needed, regardless of the department - he steps in to help without hesitation. He’s always willing to go the extra mile for patients and staff.
“I was very surprised to be chosen as this year’s caring kind winner,” said Ryan. “It’s truly an honor to be nominated for this award and even more of an honor to be chosen. I really appreciate knowing that the people I work with feel I’m deserving - as there are a lot of great people who work at AMH!”
I truly enjoy working at AMH as a physical therapist, added Ryan. I’m able to spend time with my patients. It’s more of an experience where people share and let you into their lives and I get to share my experiences with them as well. Plus, AMH is a great place to work and grow professionally. I consider it a blessing to be a part of AMH’s team.
Currently, Ryan and his wife, Tanya, and their family reside in Norfolk. Their children include Jackson (age 15), Jordan (age 13) and Everly (age 7). Tanya is the underwriter and marketing/sales director for an insurance company. Ryan’s siblings include Sean, Lars, Martin and Amy. Ryan enjoys spending time with family, attending his children’s activities, fishing and golf.
On Friday, October 23rd, the Nebraska Hospital Association will host an award presentation at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in LaVista honoring Ryan and other “Caring Kind Award” recipients in Nebraska.
