Our crew had a great time at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday! Our team included staff, volunteers, and past hospice family members and friends. We got to walk alongside our friends on Team Toad, including Gene, who carried a blue flower representing people living with dementia. We were also happy to see our friends and partners in care from Wellington Place Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living, Aase Haugen Senior Services, and Ossian Senior Hospice. Thanks to everyone who helped us raise over $1,000 for the cause, especially our colleagues at Regional Health Services of Howard County!

Our hospice crew often hears "That must be a hard job...how do you do it?" There are a lot of answers, but one of them is that we have great team that supports each other through all the highs and lows. This week our crew jumped at the opportunity to support a colleague with a silent auction basket to help their child who has a difficult medical diagnosis. We can't be there on the big day, but we're sending our love!

On this World Su***de Prevention Day, our public health crew wants to remind you that su***de can affect every one of us. By raising awareness, reducing the stigma & encouraging action we can help to reduce the instances of su***de around the world.

If you or someone you know is considering su***de, please call or text 988 for support without judgement.

If your workplace, group, or place of worship would like to host a free su***de prevention training, please contact Brecka at 563-547-6343 or brecka.putnam@rhshc.com.
