Obituary Richard Cichinsky July 28, 1960 – March 28, 2025
Richard Cichinsky (64) of Greentown, passed into eternal life on Friday March 28 at Geisinger
Community Medical Center in Scranton with his devoted wife by his side. He is survived by his
beloved wife of 30 years, Celine (O’Dougherty), and his three loving children, sons, Leo and Spencer,
and daughter, Madison. Also surviving are his brother, Leon (Jeanine) and a sister, Evanna.
Born on July 28, 1960 in Brooklyn, Richie was the son of the late Leon and Helen (Klepchick)
Cichinsky. He graduated from Thomas Edison High School in Jamaica, NY. A dedicated employee of
Con Edison for more than 35 years, he worked hard to provide for his loving family. Richie adored his
wife and children and he his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family after a hard day’s
work. He would make the long commute between PA and NY everyday, just to be home with the family
every evening.
Richie fondly remembered vacationing in the Poconos as a child and always loved the area. He
introduced Celine to the Poconos while they were dating and in the summer of 1994, just a few months
before they were married, Richie and Celine bought a home on Lake Wallenpaupack. Over the years, as
family grew, they enjoyed many relaxing weekends here with their children and pets in tow. After
Spencer was born, the family decided to move full time from Queens to Greentown.
Beside spending time with his family, Richie loved being outdoors in the beautiful Poconos. He was a
great lover of animals, especially horses and German Shepherds having owned several throughout his
life. Richie’s loving presence, infectious smile, and goofy sense of humor will be sorely missed by his
family. The echos in their grieving hearts constantly say “We will always LOVE HIM BETTER”

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date
