If you are thinking about doing some self-massage, consider the many benefits that essential oils have to help promote healing, health, and overall well being.

Below is a list of oils and their benefits:

A slow digestive system can cause bloating, constipation, or indigestion. As an alternative to reaching for an over-the-counter or prescription medication, have you ever considered massage for your symptoms?

Do you ever give yourself massages but always find that you can’t get to those spots on your neck and back that are notorious for holding tension. Or maybe it feels like you can’t get into your hip deep enough to bring relief from tight muscles.

You need a little help, and with a self-massaging tool, you can get the help you need.

You might be surprised to discover that most headaches are tension headaches, and the pain isn’t caused by the head at all, but rather the muscles at the back of the next were it meets the skull.

And, you may also be happy to learn that you can help relieve a tension headache by knowing how to massage a specific trigger point.

So how do you do this?

You want to find the trigger point(s) of your headache and then apply gentle pressure until you feel a light release.

To find the trigger points at the base of your skull, first, locate your spine in your neck, and then drag your fingers out until you feel a large band of muscle running along both sides. Then follow the band of muscle to the base of your skull and slowly move your fingers to the outside of the bands of muscle until you feel a small indent between the bands of muscle and the ears. This is the area you want to apply pressure to.

Love massages, but having a hard time fitting them into your budget?

Consider this: Your health and wellbeing are important to the balance of your mind and body. Sure, you may not be able to get that weekly massage that sounds so nice, but self-care should be a priority.

One great way to fit massage in is to pull a few bucks from every paycheck until you have saved enough for that dreamy, tension-releasing massage. Maybe even make a jar with a “MASSAGE” tag on it and set it in a spot where you see it every day. It is great to have something to look forward to, and the wait will be worth it.

If you suffer from shortness of breath, consider talking to your doctor about trying massage. Through the process of massaging the chest, back, and upper body, the respiratory muscles relax allowing for easier breathing.

Additionally, the increase in blood circulation to the lungs that is stimulated by massage helps to rid the body of carbon dioxide.
