I’m sad to announce that at the end of September, we will no longer be providing services to the public. We currently are unable to book any AquaTred appointments due to equipment issues. I have no time frame for these issues being fixed. Until the end of the month, we will still be offering Equicizer, Vitafloor and PEMF by appointment only. I recommend that if you want AquaTred, to contact ESMS in Weatherford.

Update-Arrested

Please share. This guy needs to be caught! One horse has died and the other two are also severely injured and recovering in veterinary care. They abused and tortured the horses.

UPDATE: Treyvon Covingston has turned himself in and admitted to detectives his involvement in horse theft incident.

Detectives Identify Adult Suspect in Recent Horse Theft Incident:

Detectives with the APSO Property Crimes Unit are searching for Treyvon Donte Covingston, 24, of Baton Rouge in relation to the theft of three horses from a location on New Horizon Lane in Prairieville. Once arrested, he will be charged with the following:

-Five counts of simple burglary
-Three counts of theft of livestock
-Attempted theft of livestock
-Felony theft over $25,000
-Felony damage to property $1,000 - $50,000,
-Three of contributing to delinquency of juveniles,
-Criminal trespassing
-Animal cruelty

On Saturday February 25, deputies responded to reports of three stolen horses from a location on New Horizon Lane in Prairieville. Detectives with the Property Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and located all three horses in Baton Rouge; one was severely injured. So far, detectives have arrested two juveniles for three counts theft of livestock, damage to property, five counts of burglary, and felony theft 5k-25$. Detectives have identified a third juvenile suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Anyone with information that could help detectives is urged to call the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office anonymously at 225-621-4636 or by texting 847411 to our anonymous tip line from any cellular device or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP (7867). You must call Capital Region Crime Stoppers to receive a cash reward.

In the last year our cost of operation have doubled. Due to these increases we are increasing our rate $5 to the standard 15 minute treatment. New price will be $40, and $1 minute for additional minutes. At this point we are just trying to keep our doors open. Thank you for your understanding. We currently take appointments on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please call for appointments.

The equine community is in mourning today as we learn of the tragic loss of this tremendously talented and highly respected doctor. Dr. Ty Wallis will be deeply missed. Sending our prayers and condolences to his family and all his coworkers at Equine Athlete Veterinary Services.

It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the untimely passing of our founding partner, Dr. Ty Wallis.

A natural born leader, Ty was so many things to so many people. A friend. Son. Equine Veterinarian. Surgeon. Mentor. Pilot. Philanthropist. Above all else, he was an amazing husband and father to the loves of his life, Kristen and Hattie.

Equine Athlete Veterinary Services would not be what it is today without his ideas, talent and leadership. We are all better veterinarians and people because of his influence.

Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of love and support. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Wallis family during this extremely difficult time.
