Yoga for your holidays, bringing you the joy and relaxation we all need this time of year. Here’s a sneak peek at our holiday yoga program at Southern Prairie Family Fitness Center in Creston.
Monday, Dec. 4: Joy/Gratitude: Gratitude makes us feel good. Not only for what we receive this time of year, but for what we already have. Make a “gift list” in your mind, of all the gifts you already have. Meditate on all your blessings, both big and small, with some slow flow yoga.
Wednesday, Dec. 6: Relaxation/Mindfulness: Slowing down during the holidays, enough to enjoy each moment, rather than just planning for the next one. Slow flow with mindfulness meditation and practices to anchor us to the present moment. Give yourself permission for this time of self-care, soaking up each moment with a relaxed and happy heart.
Monday, Dec. 11: Joy/Loving-kindness & Generosity: Showing generosity and kindness to ourselves and others makes us feel good. Loving-kindness meditation with heart opening yoga flow.
Wednesday, Dec. 13: Relaxation/De-stressing Christmas. Taking care of our nervous system with relaxation techniques, calming yoga, meditation, face and head massages (self-administered), tense and release exercises, and a long savasana. Visualize a white or golden ball of light absorbing all stress from body, heart, and mind. Invite in rest for both body and mind with 45 minutes of pure relaxation.
Monday, Dec. 18: Joy/Light-heartedness: Laughter is good for the heart. So, we’re going to do some laughter yoga! We’ll embrace playfulness and let go of being too serious. Fun winter and holiday-themed yoga poses!
Wednesday, Dec. 20: Relaxation/Yoga Nidra. Slow flow class with yoga nidra and a long savasana. Along with some relaxing breathwork, we’ll meditate on planting a seed of inner peace deep within the self during our yoga nidra and embrace creating a sanctuary of inner-peace. Mantra: “Chaos outside, stillness inside.”
Classes are free for members or $15 for a day pass. I’d love for you to check out any of these classes and it would be an honor to help you invite more joy and peace into your holiday season!
