l’m Chris Doster, CEO/Founder of Feel Better Training, and an Active Life Professional trainer.

I work out of my studio here in Creston, lowa but also help clients all over the country online and via Zoom.

I’m deeply inspired to help people get back to the activities, adventures, and everyday moments they love — especially after trying so many things that didn’t work. It’s about building strength, confidence, and trust in your body again.
To have a health span that matches their life span!

Fun facts about me:
-Two sons I’m super proud of
-Never married
-Love working out outside the gym more than in the gym ... sometimes call myself the “anti-gym gym bro”
-My latest passion is learning about breathing and how much we can improve our health just with how we breathe during our day
-I’m a big KC Royals and Chiefs fan
-I’m a big fan
-I’ve been working with a really good massage therapist lately... super excited about the possibilities of developing a combo service of what she does with massage therapy/yoga and what we do
-We’ve started a multidisciplinary health professional team that’s goal is to bridge the gap between healthcare and fitness/health professionals that I’m really proud of.
-I’m headed to a 5 day meditation retreat this week so will be OFF THE GRID as in no phone and l’m really excited about that! Could you go 5 days with no phone? 🙃

Longevity isn’t just about living longer. It’s about living better.

You can live to 90, but if the last 20 years are spent in pain, weak, or unable to do the things you love... is that really the goal?

That’s the difference between lifespan (how long you’re alive) and healthspan (how long you’re healthy).

Your body should be strong, mobile, and resilient so you can do the things that light you up.

Strengthening our back and our entire body is one of the best ways to resolve chronic pain.

When we get advice from doctors to “go light” or “take it easy” it can be hard understanding what that means or where to start.

That’s why we started her with a full flexibility and mobility screen, strength balance tests, and tolerance assessments.

We didn’t guess. We assessed. It took the first 6 sessions to get all the data we needed including her spine being able to tolerate 100 lbs on this health lift. You may know it as the deadlift but we prefer to call it the health lift because of how good it is for our health.

After using what we learned to start her where her capacity was … we built a plan to make her stronger head to toe.

I think it’s working because she lifted 100 lbs for 32 reps today. 3200 lbs of lifting in one session when she could only do 100 lbs a few short months ago!

How about a round of applause for Meg for being consistent, trusting the process, and being a high quality human being?! 👏

You say you’ll do anything for your family. Work your ass off to give them a better life.

You’d die for your kids if you had to we’re guessing. Bravo 👏

Losing weight by NOT focusing on losing weight is the way!

These clients have all lost considerable amounts of weight in a relatively short time by focusing on:

-The quality of their food
-Their mindset around food
-Building lean muscle every week
-Trusting the process and celebrating following it consistently vs. only celebrating if we reach some big weight loss goal

Too many people are told they need to “just get the surgery”, when in reality:

-Pain doesn’t always equal damage
-Imaging is not the end all be all insight
-Inflammation isn’t failure

Most joint pain isn’t a surgical issue - it’s a movement issue.

If you haven’t addressed:

✅ Stress
✅ Nutrition
