A reminder that much of what we see online and social media isn’t real. And at best is only part of the story.

If the holiday season is hard for you, and you find yourself comparing what is going on with your life with what you see online - stop. Get off social media for the next few weeks.

Don’t avoid planning for days or periods of the year that are hard for you. Those days will come. If you plan - then you are taking control of your narrative - this helps.

✨Plan time to be with friends.

✨Find someplace to volunteer.

✨Let people know that you don’t have plans yet and want to do something - many may be assuming that you are busy and don’t have time.

✨If you have had a loss in the last year, figure out a way to recognize it - but not let it be the focus of the season, nor the elephant in the room.
