Amy is an excellent counselor who is dedicated to helping others find hope and healing. If you or a loved one has been thinking about counseling, reach out to her.

In addition to telehealth, I do have in-person availability. I’m located on the north end of town, in the Diligent Coworking (Hancock Whitney) Building beside the post office. I am paneled through Headway and can take UHC, UMR, Aetna, and Cigna.

It’s so easy to get lost in all the problems and develop a negative outlook on life. Our brains are wired to protect us by anticipating the worst-case scenarios—but that strategy often backfires. It doesn’t prepare us; it only makes us feel worse.

What does help is choosing to notice the small glimmers of good in our lives. These moments might seem insignificant at first, but they help shift our perspective. Over time, as we practice seeing the good alongside the hard, we begin to feel lighter, more grounded, and more hopeful.

Start small. Look for the glimmers.

Here’s a question we can ask ourselves right in the midst of our messes …

Am I letting this mess define me or refine me?
The answer to this question is crucial.
If I am letting a mess define me, I will feel hopeless.
If I am letting a mess refine me, I will be hopeful.

God doesn’t want us to stay stuck in places of defeat. He wants us to be refined into the hope-filled women we’re meant to be.

Dear Lord, thank You for continually offering me hope. I’m choosing to believe today that I don’t have to stay stuck in my messes, even if they are messes of my own making. I’m tuning my ear to Your voice today. I’m filling my heart and mind with the truth of Your Word. And I’m heading in a new direction with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Grief is how we come to terms with our new reality. It’s the process in which the old is mourned and released, and the new is accepted and assimilated into what’s new. Without proper grieving, you will be forever stuck in the in-between — struggling with the loss but never accepting the new life you live in.

I don’t know who feels glaringly absent in your life right now, but rejection from a person doesn’t equal rejection from God.

He is near. He loves you. And He will never leave or forsake you.

Let His presence comfort you.
