Piriformis Syndrome!

⚡️Piriformis Syndrome is a disorder in which the piriformis muscle compresses the sciatic nerve.

⚡️ Piriformis muscle location: originates at the anterior sacrum and inserts into the greater trochanter of the femur. It is an external (lateral) rotator of the thigh and is an abductor of the thigh.

⚡️Symptoms: Burning, numbness, tingling, sharp, shooting pain down the back and/or the side of the leg, &
occasionally into the calf and foot.

⚡️Causes:
-Climbing stairs, walking, or running without stretching.
-Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Lack of physical activity.
- Improper lifting.
-Injury, such as a fall.
