Friends and family...Doc and Penny arrived in Holyoake, CO safe and sound! Many of you asked us to stay in touch; the best way I know to do this is through your page. Even though the Crestview clinic is closed, the wonderful friendships we made there do not have to stop. I will warn you that I am not great with FB, but will check it occasionally. I'm including a picture I took from our back porch the first morning after we arrived. All our best to you!

Well, it is that time of year again but Colds and Flu are not the only concerns we have this year as we need to still be award of Covid-19. Here is a flier that might help you to distinguish between the various symptoms and causes.
As always, it is best to wear a mask and to have social distancing when in public.

Just in case you have not already heard, North Okaloosa Family Medicine is closing the end of November. It came as a great surprise to us, too, but God has led us to serve in the small town of Holyoake, CO which has only 2313 people, and has no town doctor. It has truly been our honor to serve here in Crestview, FL and it pulls at our heart-strings as we prepare to leave, but we would rather be in God's will than our own. So, please pray for us as we make this transition, and know we truly love and care for all those God has allowed us to serve.

Welllll...ready or not, Doc and Penny will celebrate their 61st and 60th birthdays this month! Since everyone is fully content staying home due to Covid-19 (lol), Doc and Penny are celebrating by donating canned or boxed food to local charaties. Doc is hoping to collect 61 cans/boxes of food to donate to the new Crestview Homeless Shelter, and Penny hopes to collect 60 canned/boxed goods for the Crestview Food Pantry! If you would like to help them celebrate, please bring your donation to the North Okaloosa Family Medicine Clinic at 951 S. Ferdon Blvd, Crestview, FL. THANKS!!🎂😃

Confession...I've never been much of a breakfast eater. Obviously, that is going to change! Here's a report we just received, and we wanted to share it with everyone. Guess Momma was right...Breakfast IS important!
"Not eating breakfast linked with CVD mortality, study finds. A study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that adults who said they never eat breakfast were at an 87% increased risk of dying from cardiovascular disease, especially stroke-related death, than those who eat breakfast daily, regardless of body mass index, CV risk factors and socioeconomic status. The authors evaluated 1988-1994 data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and noted research has found an association between skipping breakfast and risk factors such as high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, obesity and type 2 diabetes."
Please share this with those you love and encourage them to start their day with a healthy breakfast (NOT Poptarts...lol).
