✨ From “throw it in the dumpster!” to “I can try again next time!” ✨

Carys has made INCREDIBLE progress this past year in OT, and we just had to celebrate her big moment 🎉

When she first started, big emotions showed up almost daily. Fast forward to now… Carys is using her tools, taking deep breaths, and working through challenges like a pro 💪

One of our favorite full-circle moments:
➡️ Then: “Throw the computer in the dumpster!”
➡️ Now: “That’s okay, I can try next time.”

Carys even shared:
💬 “OT has helped me learn to calm down by using tools in my toolbox.”

We are SO proud of you, Carys! Your hard work, growth, and determination have truly paid off. Congratulations on graduating from OT—you are a ROCKSTAR ⭐

👇 Let’s celebrate Carys!
Drop a 🎉 or ❤️ in the comments to cheer her on!

Breaking news:
This therapy session was powered by…

✨ A glowing tube of color-changing greatness. ✨

While it looks like we’re just admiring the vibes, what’s actually happening:

🌈 Visual tracking skills leveling up
🌈 Calm bodies coming online
🌈 Joint attention in full effect
🌈 Language popping off (“UP!” “DOWN!” “WOW!”)

That slow-moving glow?
It’s basically a spa day for the nervous system.

Low lights.
Big focus.
Zero chaos.

And guess what? You can recreate this magic at home without a full sensory room.

Try this:

✨ Flashlight + water bottle + a few drops of food coloring
✨ A lava lamp in a dim room
✨ Color-changing nightlight before bed
✨ Flashlight shadows on the wall for slow tracking fun

Dim the lights. Slow it down. Let them watch. Let them talk about what they see.

Sometimes therapy looks like obstacle courses and high-fives.
Sometimes it looks like quiet wonder and glowing water.

Both?
Huge developmental wins. 💙

Save this for later or tag a parent who needs a calm-body reset idea tonight. 🌈

✨ A Moment Worth Celebrating ✨ Some journeys deserve to be paused and truly celebrated… this is one of them. 💙

• Graci Easterday, BCBA •

In 2024, Graci joined APT as a part-time RBT. Just a few weeks ago, she passed her BCBA certification and is now stepping into her new role as a full-time BCBA at our Associates in Pediatric Therapy - Bowling Green location —and we couldn’t be more proud. 💙

From early experiences working with children to discovering her passion for ABA, she knew this field was her calling. Through dedication, hard work, and a commitment to growth, she has turned that passion into a career that’s already making a difference.

What stands out most about Graci is her heart for the work:
💬 “What I love most about ABA therapy is how individualized each goal is—and getting to celebrate progress alongside clients, caregivers, and teammates.”

Her journey has been shaped by hands-on learning and meaningful collaboration:
💬 “I really love how supportive the supervisors are here and how closely we can collaborate with each other.”

Her advice for families:
✨ Celebrate every win—big or small—and lean on your therapy team for support. ✨

Graci, this is such a special accomplishment, and it’s only the beginning of the impact you’ll continue to make. 💙 Drop a 👏 below to help us celebrate her!

One of our Little Legends was on a roll during ABA session! 🚀

From big smiles to even bigger wins, this session was full of energy, learning, and a whole lot of fun. Watching confidence grow while skills are building is what it’s all about!

Moments like these remind us that progress happens through play, encouragement, and celebrating every step along the way. 💙

Way to go, Little Legend — we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next! ✨

Game on. 🏀✨

You see basketball.
We see skill-building in action.

During this session, so much more than hoops were happening:

🏀 Balance + coordination
🏀 Core strength
🏀 Motor planning
🏀 Hand-eye coordination
🏀 Following directions

Every dribble.
Every shot.
Every “I did it!”

Movement-based play keeps bodies engaged and brains learning. And when therapy feels like a game? That’s the sweet spot. 💙

Want to try it at home?

🏀 Lower the hoop (or use a laundry basket!)
🏀 Practice “ready, set, shoot!”
🏀 Add colors or numbers to call out before each shot

Fun first.
Skills always. 💙

🚲💙 Big smiles, big wins, and a brand new set of wheels!

Damian received his adaptive tricycle from the amazing Bluegrass Ambucs, and it was such a special moment to celebrate 🎉

Surrounded by his biggest supporters—his family, Joyce from AMBUCS, and his OT Kayley and PT Hadly—Damian is ready to ride into new adventures, build strength, and have SO much fun along the way 💪✨

These moments are what it’s all about—creating opportunities, building independence, and seeing our kiddos shine 🌟

💙💛 World Down Syndrome Day 💛💙

Today we celebrate individuals with Down syndrome—their strengths, their joy, and the unique perspectives they bring to our world 🌎

Did you know? Down syndrome occurs when a person has an extra copy of chromosome 21—hence 3/21, the day we celebrate!

Every individual’s journey is different, but one thing is the same: they deserve inclusion, opportunities, and to be celebrated for exactly who they are 💛

Let’s continue to spread awareness, choose kindness, and create a world where everyone belongs.

Insurance and therapy… it can feel a little confusing sometimes. We get it! 💙

That’s why we created a simple guide to help families better understand how insurance works at Associates in Pediatric Therapy.

In our latest blog, we walk through things like:
✔️ What insurance plans we accept
✔️ Understanding the basics of coverage
✔️ Visit limits and plan years
✔️ What happens if something isn’t covered

Our goal is always to make the process as clear and stress-free as possible so families can focus on what matters most — their child’s growth and progress. 🌟

POV: You think he’s just bouncing… 🏀✨

But this is skill-building in motion.

While he’s holding that handle and having the BEST time, we’re working on:

🏀 Core strength
🏀 Balance + stability
🏀 Grip strength
🏀 Body awareness
🏀 Listening + ABA goals

“Ready, set, go.”
“More!”
“Freeze!”

That strong handle grip?
Helping build hands for writing, cutting, and everyday tasks.

Fun? Absolutely.
Intentional? Always.

Try it at home:

🏀 Hopper or yoga ball (with supervision)
🏀 Add “freeze” or simple directions
🏀 Practice holding on tight for short bursts

Big bounce energy. Big developmental wins. 💙

Plot twist:
This isn’t “just coloring.” ✨🖍️

While those markers are hard at work, so are these skills:

🖍️ Fine motor strength
🖍️ Hand-eye coordination
🖍️ Bilateral coordination (one hand holds, one hand colors)
🖍️ Pencil grasp development
🖍️ Focus + attention

Those little hands?
Training for handwriting, cutting, buttoning, and classroom confidence.

Want to level it up at home?

🖍️ Tape paper to the wall and color standing up
🖍️ Trace shapes or their name
🖍️ Color inside big spaces… then make them smaller
🖍️ Try “tiny detail” challenges for extra control

Markers.
Focus.
Big developmental wins. 💙

When the therapy team trades therapy tools for putters ⛳😄

Our team had a blast spending some time together at Puttshack for a little friendly competition, lots of laughs, and some well-deserved fun outside the clinic!

Moments like these remind us how special our team is — the same energy, support, and teamwork we bring to our families every day carries over when we get together, too. 💙

Safe to say… there may have been a few surprisingly competitive mini-golf players in the group! 👀🏆
