A little about us at Therapeutic Wellness...
The owner, Dawn Havlat, has been as licensed massage therapist for 11 years, and a medical massage practitioner for 9 years. She has always had a passion for anatomy and physiology (how the body is put together and how it FUNCTIONS). After attending the University of Nebraska- Lincoln and Myotherapy Institute, her love for NeuroMuscular and pain relief grew.
Since graduating, she has worked in various settings including a spa, pain clinic, university athletic program, and alongside orthopedic physicians. At the heart of it all, her goal was to help people get out of pain and correct their causes of pain. Our massage studio is not your typical spa experience. We create a customized session that provides the elements of a relaxation massage, while simultaneously addressing, identifying, and treating areas of chronic pain and dysfunction.
We employ medical massage, which is built on a foundation of deep anatomical knowledge and understanding of how the body moves. Current pain research informs our treatments and our techniques... and allows us to maximize your results.
We do not charge extra for any tools or modalities that we opt to use during your session. Medical massage and pain relief is our niche. Modalities certified in and used include, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, oncology, sinus and headache treatment, recovery stretching and kinesio tapping, reflexology, myofascial release, and lymph drainage. Tools may include, pain gels and creams, static/passive stretching, tendon stimulation, massage cups, IASTM tools, kinesio tape, and more.

Common Questions
What should you expect during your first session?
You should arrive 10/15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for paperwork. We will discuss your health history, body work experience, preferences, and goals. Your therapist will leave the room and return once you are laying comfortably between the linens on the table. Please undress to your level of comfort.
Throughout your session please relax, breathe, and allow us to move your limbs without assistance. During your massage, you will be draped to protect your privacy, so completely un******ng is appropriate. If you feel more comfortable wearing undergarments, please feel free to do so.
Your therapist will check in with you periodically for feedback on pressure and comfort. Please speak up if you feel pain, need more pressure, if you are too warm or too cold, if the music is too loud, if your sinuses become uncomfortably congested, etc.
When should you not get a massage?
We Believe that there are a few conditions which would prevent you from enjoying massage. You should not book a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu, or contagious skin infection. That’s it. There are other conditions in which your therapist may need to adapt their technique or avoid an area (i.e. cuts and burns). With some conditions, it is good idea to get approval from your physician before you receive massage.
