The first three years of life are a once‑in‑a‑lifetime window.

During this stage, the brain is rapidly forming pathways — and therapy can literally reshape them.

Whether it’s feeding, speech, sensory processing, or motor skills, early intervention is transformational.

Happy Work Anniversary, Michelle! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating someone who truly does it all. Michelle wears many hats and somehow does it all with a smile on her face. She is a strong, dependable leader who always strives for the best for her team, our families, and the entire company.

Her knowledge seems endless, whether it’s insurance, billing, funding resources, office operations, or solving the impossible problem, Michelle always has the answer (or finds it quickly!). She keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes and is always willing to help with even the smallest details.

Michelle is caring, patient, selfless, funny, and beautiful inside and out. She supports not only our local team, but our Kentucky offices as well, often going above and beyond!

Simply put, Sensory Solutions would not be the same without her. We are beyond lucky to have her, and so many of us look up to and appreciate all that she does every single day.

Thank you, Michelle, for your dedication, leadership, and heart. Happy Anniversary!

Today for OT Month, we are celebrating Ms. Lindsey!

Lindsey is one of our OT and site supervisors. She works at two of our locations. She is on our feeding team and helps with fieldwork students.

Get to know Lindsey:
Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Food: Pasta
Favorite Animal: Dogs and penguins
Favorite Team: Mizzou Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals
Hobbies: Reading & exploring new parks and places with her two girls
College: Mizzou (undergraduate), SLU (graduate)
Reason for getting into the field of OT: "I love working with children and getting to play all day! I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful difference in children's lives and help build skills needed for everyday activities and to support families during their child's development!"
OT Tip: "Kids learn best through play and that includes eating! Make trying foods fun and messy! Sing songs, pretend food is something the child is interested in (examples: a ball, an animal, a transportation item, make-up, etc.) to work on exploring and learning about the food through touch to the hands, arm, and face, talk about the sensory properties of the food, and/or have him or her cook with you!"

OT Activity of the Day! Set up a "car wash" with shaving cream, toy cars, and water! This is a fun way to work on messy play as well as introducing interoceptive awareness. Have your child talk about if their hands are wet or dry, cold or warm, clean or messy, moving fast or slow, etc. !
