Many people think a concussion only matters if someone loses consciousness.

In reality, many concussions happen without loss of consciousness and can still affect focus, sleep, mood, and daily functioning.

If symptoms have lingered after a head injury, it may be worth taking a closer look at how the brain is functioning. 🧠

March is Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Awareness Month, and throughout the month we’ll be sharing educational content about head injuries and how factors like nutrition can support brain health during recovery.

Concussions are often called “mild” brain injuries, but the symptoms can still affect daily life in meaningful ways. Headaches, dizziness, fatigue, trouble concentrating, mood changes, and sleep disruptions are all commonly reported during recovery.

One of the most common questions people have is: What symptoms are normal after a concussion, and when should someone seek care?

In our latest blog post, we walk through common symptoms after a concussion, why recovery can look different for each person, and when it may be helpful to talk with a healthcare professional.

Education can make recovery feel less uncertain. Understanding what many people experience after a head injury can help patients and families navigate the healing process with more confidence.

A head injury does not always end when the physical wound heals.

For many people, the effects show up in everyday moments such as keeping up with conversations, pushing through mental tasks, managing sleep, or tolerating noise and stimulation. It can feel frustrating, especially when others cannot “see” what you are experiencing.

At our clinic, we use qEEG-guided MeRT to better understand each person’s unique brain patterns after a concussion or TBI. Care is personalized with the goal of supporting regulation and cognitive functioning over time.

If you or someone you love is still feeling the effects of a past head injury, we are here to talk through options and answer questions.

If depression hasn’t improved with medications or therapy, it can start to feel confusing, frustrating, and even discouraging. Many people quietly wonder what they’re doing wrong, even though they’ve been trying their best.

Treatment-resistant depression doesn’t mean someone hasn’t put in enough effort. It often means that standard treatments haven’t fully addressed how certain brain circuits are functioning. For some individuals, depression involves patterns in brain communication that benefit from more targeted, brain-based support.

If this resonates, please know you’re not alone, and you’re not out of options. Support can look different for different brains, and taking time to explore those options is a meaningful step forward.

No two brains are the same. 💜

Autism reflects a unique way of experiencing and processing the world. By looking at each child’s individual brain patterns, MeRT® allows us to tailor care in a way that can support regulation and daily functioning, while honoring who they already are.

If you’re curious whether this could be a good fit for your family, we’d be happy to connect! Call us at 314.246.0288 or visit the link in our bio.

This time of year can feel heavy for a lot of people. Shorter days, less sunlight, and changes in routine can all affect mood.

For some, it’s a seasonal dip that lifts as the seasons change. For others, it feels deeper and more persistent, touching sleep, energy, focus, and daily life.

If your mood feels different than your usual self, it matters. You deserve support that takes your experience seriously and looks at the whole picture of your brain health.

Autism and emotional regulation are closely connected. When emotional responses feel hard to manage, it often reflects how the brain processes stress and sensory input. Understanding that can shift the way we support ourselves and others.

Every child on the autism spectrum experiences the world in their own unique way, with incredible strengths, sensitivities, and needs. 💜

For some families, challenges like sleep disruption or difficulty feeling settled in the body can make daily life feel overwhelming. When the brain feels more regulated, many children may experience greater awareness, comfort, and presence in their environment.

We’re grateful to walk alongside families as they explore supportive, brain-based care that focuses on regulation, safety, and understanding each child as an individual, never trying to change who they are, but helping their nervous system feel more supported.

If this resonates with you or your family, you’re not alone. We’re always here to answer questions.

Winter has a way of quietly making sleep harder. When sleep suffers, mood often follows. If this feels like a pattern every year, you are not imagining it, and you are not alone.

These seasonal shifts are rooted in biology, not willpower or mindset. Recognizing that can be a powerful first step toward feeling more supported.

If winter feels especially heavy for you, it may be worth exploring what your brain needs during this season. You deserve support that meets you where you are. 💜
