Three members of our Garner, NC hospice care center recently came together to support a local family as their 22-year-old son entered his final moments of life. The team responded quickly, admitted the patient, remained with the family and provided comfort and prayer as he passed — all in one meaningful visit.

We are proud to have such compassionate caregivers on our team. Thank you, Dianna, Mandy and Amanda for your urgency, empathy and dedication to putting our patients and their families first in the moments that matter.

Navy veteran and hospice volunteer Aaron Burr knows the power of small gestures. Inspired by the kindness that shaped his early life in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Aaron now gives back by making companionship calls to fellow veterans receiving hospice care.

Recently, he mailed 100th birthday hats to centenarian patients — one of whom, Chief Windsong, was also a Navy veteran and New Bedford native. Though they’d never met, Aaron’s thoughtful gesture created a meaningful connection between two veterans, many miles apart.

Here's a shoutout worth reading! 🌟 Meet Autumn - one of the devoted LPNs of Amedisys Home Health in Crewe, VA! 👩‍⚕️ Autumn recently received recognition from a patient and her coworkers for making a lifechanging impact. This particular patient was involved in a traumatic accident affecting both physical and emotional health. This patient describes Autumn as patient and kind, and gave her all the praise for getting them well enough to graduate to outpatient therapy! 💪🏻🥳

Autumn clearly made an impact far beyond just the physical healing ❤️‍🩹 Knowing that the patient felt supported enough to start their journey toward recovery—emotionally and physically—thanks to her care is truly amazing. Autumn’s compassion is obviously a game changer for those she works with. She’s not just a nurse, she’s a lifeline! 🥰💚
