Who we are...
Healthy Futures Pulaski County is an action-oriented community coalition that serves to encourage the residents of Pulaski County to invest in their health by adopting healthy lifestyles, thereby creating a healthier community. Kids (Adolescents Committed To Improvement Via Exercise) , the HFPC hopes to teach elementary and middle school children the importance of adopting an exercise regimen at at a young age. This program is not only designed to get kids up and moving but to adopt healthy eating and study habits as well. The goal of the HFPC through the A.C.T.I.V.E Kids program is to promote all around wellness to the student. Emphasizing how discipline on the racecourse can lead to discipline in the classroom, the program serves to motivate and encourage children to develop discipline by showing how crucial it is to their success both now and in the future. As part of our A.C.T.I.V.E (Adults Committed To Improvement Via Exercise) adults program, the HFPC works to inspire people of every age (especially those over 50) to adopt an healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical fitness and healthy eating. We have many programs to educate and equip the citizens of our county to eat well and exercise including:
- Couch to 5k eight-week training programs
- Free monthly family 5k run/walks in partnership with Security Bank and the Frog Fitness Group
- Year-round aqua running classes
- Group training runs every Saturday
-Frog Hill Half Marathon/10k and the Leapfrog 5k
- Racing for Daylight Ultra
- Ultra Sweaty Santa - Christmas in July Run/Walk/Bike/Ruck
- Bad Dawg Ultra 50k/50mile/100k/100mile/12mile
- 15toFit, 45toFit and 60toVictory programs and education
- OneSolePurpose project
The coalition is always looking for like-minded individuals that share the vision of making our county as healthy as it can be by working and serving alongside one another to achieve that goal.

Through simple, accessible practices, you’ll begin cultivating awareness in body, mind, and spirit. 🎯🎯The session includes a brief teaching, followed by a guided breathing exercise to help you begin to experience and apply mindfulness in everyday life.

✅Participants will learn how stress impacts the body and brain, how unhealthy coping patterns can quietly derail performance and relationships, and how to build a personalized toolkit of evidence-based strategies to stay grounded under pressure.
✅This session equips attendees with simple, actionable skills to manage stress effectively—so they can respond with resilience instead of reacting in burnout.
Larry Sharp, MAADC II, has more than 17 years experience as a Wellness Coach, Substance Abuse and Cocurring Disorders Counselor, and teaching DBT and CBT coping skills. Larry is an avid runner, fitness buff, writer, and speaker with Runners Church Ministries.

"Fueling for Health" will explore the fundamental components of nutrition and the six essential nutrients. We will discover the new 2026 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and address obesity and chronic disease trends in our area and their implications for long-term health.
This presentation will disprove common myths about healthy eating and provide tools and strategies for making a diet of real, whole food possible with a busy schedule and a budget. Shopping strategies, navigating conflicting nutrition information, and effectively utilizing nutrition labels and technology will also be addressed to help us fuel our lives on quality, nutrient rich foods.
Audra Morrison is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She received her education in Community Health Education at Brigham Young University. She works in health promotion at Fort Leonard Wood Armed Forces Wellness Center providing programs and services to improve and sustain the health and performance of the Armed Forces.
