Founded in 1935, the Connecticut Opticians Association is dedicated to promoting the highest possible standard of honor, integrity, and professionalism for opticianry in the state of Connecticut. Our state was the first in the nation to license opticians, and we consider our obligation to the profession and to the patients of Connecticut to be an ongoing process of improvement and maintenance of the highest possible standards.

The COA endorsed the Special Olympics, Lions Club International, Opening Eyes event.

Volunteers on Saturday included
(L-R) COA President, Emily DeLarm, LO; Wren Hallman, LO; and Megan Lehman, LO.
COA board members Raina Wesson, LO and Megan Houlihan, LO helped on Sunday.

The free clinic on June 6 & 7, performed complete eye “screenings” for the olympians. Under the direction of clinical co-Director, Dr. Chris Agro of Enfield, the Opening Eyes Day performed screenings on many participants who might not otherwise receive eye care.

Newly formed United Opticians Association. CT delegate Jennifer Haddad made motion to adopt newly proposed bylaws of UOA Bylaws passed and adopted by 91% of delegates present. COA delegates voted unanimously to adopt.
