💫One of my favorite times of year is being able to hand select a deserving recipient for the MaryAnn Simmons Memorial Scholarship.
🏆 Congratulations to our 2026 MaryAnn Simmons Scholarship recipient, Cody Demarais! 🏒⚾
Cody was selected based on the support and admiration shared by his peers, coaches, and community members. He was described as a purposeful yet quiet leader, an exceptional teammate, grateful, hardworking, and an all-around great person both on and off the field.
MaryAnn Simmons was an avid sports fan who deeply believed in the lessons athletics teach — resilience, teamwork, dedication, humility, and heart. Whether cheering from the sidelines or passionately supporting her favorite teams, she loved seeing young athletes grow not only in skill, but in character.
This fall, Cody plans to continue his education at Minnesota State Mankato where he will pursue a degree in teaching with a focus in history education. We know the same leadership, integrity, and dedication he has shown in athletics and his community will continue to guide him as he works toward impacting future generations.
We hope this scholarship supports Cody’s future goals while also serving as a reminder that his hard work, leadership, and character are seen and appreciated by so many around him.
