Please join us in welcoming our new volunteer, Carless Dance. Carless has a distinguished background with the Red Cross, disaster services, Salvation Army, and working with the homeless. His presence has already been felt at Cumberland House, where patients are asking for him by name.

We are delighted to welcome Eric and Bella Savoldi, a dedicated husband and wife team, to our volunteer family. Eric, having retired from a career in electrical engineering, and Bella, having retired from specializing in elderly and infant care, will be undertaking home visits and providing support to Cumberland House. Upon visiting Cumberland House, they spent special time with each patient, who later expressed their sincere appreciation for the joyful and pleasant visit they had with Eric and Bella.

Cumberland House Hospice Auxiliary has received a grant of $750 from VEC Customers Share Program. The utility collects funds from VEC customers who agree to have their electric bills rounded up to the nearest dollar. These contributions go directly to the program and we urge VEC customers to join in this important endeavor. This grant makes Volunteer Energy Cooperative a funding organization of Hospice of Cumberland County and Cumberland House.


Cumberland House Hospice Auxiliary is most grateful for VEC’s continued support of our six-bed residential facility operated by nonprofit Hospice of Cumberland County. Cumberland House is staffed 24/7 to provide nursing care for terminally ill patients in a home-like setting. We honor Ms. Betty's extraordinary progress during her year at Cumberland House, and we're ecstatic she's embarking on a new journey near loved ones. Lydia Godfrey is just one of the many volunteers that came to visit, talk and read to her. Donna Ogle, Cumberland House Administrator, Melissa Pryor, Volunteer Coordinator/CNA and Michel Linson CNA were here to bid her a fond farewell on her new path.
