Congress is finally considering adding mammal products to the definition of “major food allergens,” which would mean it’s finally getting labeled! This would be such a huge win for folks with Alpha Gal.
If you live in TN, I have included a link to contact our congressman, John Rose, and also written up an easy message that you can copy and paste, or feel free to write your own message!

Issue of concern: health
“This message is in relation to H.R.9382
Alpha gal has a huge impact on everyday life, including brain fog, fatigue, hives, severe digestive upset and these reactions all stem from contact with mammal products.
There are obvious items, such as eating a steak or bacon, that may cause people with alpha gal to be sick. But so many animal biproducts are hidden in everyday items, including bottled water that is filtered through bone char, and even some brands of toilet paper. Can you imagine being fearful to use toilet paper at a public restroom? Or being scared to go to a restaurant for fear of cross contamination? Or eating something like chicken, that is poultry rather than mammal, but still having a reaction because they’ve added carrageenan to it.
People with alpha gal would benefit so much from proper labeling to keep them healthy. But the hidden items are the worst, because people think they are staying away from these mammal products and still feel sick. Some of them can't even take their prescription medications due to mammal biproducts.
A simple label would make a world of difference. Please vote to pass H.R.9382”
