🌷🐾 What a Spring Wellness Exam Can Catch Early

A wellness visit isn’t about looking for problems — it’s about protecting peace of mind. 💛

Here’s what we’re thoughtfully checking for:

✨ Early disease
Subtle changes that may not be visible at home, but are easier to manage when caught early.

✨ Lifestyle shifts
Weight changes, mobility differences, dental buildup, skin concerns — small adjustments that keep pets feeling their best.

✨ Age-related changes
As pets grow and mature, their needs evolve. Routine exams help us tailor care to every life stage.

Most visits end with reassurance — and that’s the goal. A healthy report, a refreshed plan, and confidence heading into a new season. 🌼

If it’s been a while since your pet’s last checkup, we’re here when you’re ready.

🐶🛑 National Dog Bite Prevention Week

This week, we join the American Veterinary Medical Association in raising awareness about dog bite prevention — because safety starts with understanding.

Dog bites are preventable, and education makes all the difference. Here are a few important reminders for families:

✔️ Always supervise interactions between children and dogs
✔️ Never disturb a dog that is eating, sleeping, or caring for puppies
✔️ Teach children to ask before petting any dog
✔️ Avoid approaching unfamiliar dogs without owner permission
✔️ Learn to recognize signs of stress (lip licking, turning away, stiff posture, growling)

Even the sweetest dogs can bite if they feel scared, startled, or uncomfortable. Prevention isn’t about labeling dogs as “good” or “bad” — it’s about respecting boundaries and setting everyone up for success.

If you have questions about behavior, socialization, or training resources, we’re here to help. 💛

“What pet parents sometimes tell us…” 💛

“I thought it would get better.”
“I didn’t know it was serious.”
“I wish I came in sooner.”

If you’ve ever had one of these thoughts, please know — you’re not alone.

Pets can’t tell us when something feels “off,” and many health concerns start subtly. Even the most attentive, loving pet parents can miss early signs.

What matters most isn’t timing. It’s that you came.

We’re never here to judge — only to support, guide, and care for your pet every step of the way. If something feels different, even if you’re unsure, it’s always okay to call. 💛

🐣🌷 What NOT to Put in Your Pet’s Easter Basket 🐾

We love including our pets in holiday fun — but some traditional basket goodies aren’t so pet-friendly. Instead of just saying “don’t,” here are a few easy swaps to keep tails wagging safely:

❌ Chocolate → ✅ Vet-approved treats
Chocolate can be toxic to dogs and cats. Pet-safe treats let them join the celebration without the emergency visit.

❌ Plastic Easter grass → ✅ Snuffle mat
That colorful plastic filler can cause serious intestinal blockages if swallowed. A snuffle mat keeps them busy (and mentally enriched!) the safe way.

❌ Stuffed toys with strings or ribbons → ✅ Durable chews
Loose strings and small parts are tempting to chew but risky to ingest. Tough, pet-safe chews are a much better choice.

A little planning makes holidays safer — and just as fun. 💛

If your pet gets into something questionable, call us right away. We’re always here to help.

🌿 Tick Check 101: Where to Look After Outdoor Play 🐾

A quick backyard zoomie session or trail walk can be the highlight of your pet’s day… but it can also invite unwanted hitchhikers. 👀🕷️

Ticks love to hide in warm, tucked-away spots. After outdoor play, take 2–3 minutes to check these common areas:

✔️ Around the ears (inside and out)
✔️ Under the collar or harness
✔️ Between toes
✔️ Under the tail
✔️ Around the eyelids
✔️ In the armpits and groin
✔️ Around the lips and chin

Ticks can transmit illnesses like Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, and Ehrlichiosis — and early removal makes a difference.

Not sure what you’re looking for? Think: small bumps, dark specks, or anything that feels unusual on the skin. If you find something suspicious, give us a call — we’re happy to help.

And remember: consistent flea & tick prevention is the best protection year-round. 💚

Dogs can develop lumps and bumps as they age — but how can you tell if it's harmless or something serious?

🟢 Benign Tumors: These are non-cancerous growths that generally stay localized and don't spread. While they may grow over time, they’re usually not life-threatening.

🔴 Malignant Tumors: These are cancerous and can invade nearby tissue or spread to other parts of the body. Early detection is crucial for the best outcome in treating malignant tumors.

💡 HT Vista Cancer Detection can help us determine if your pet's lump is benign or needs further testing — all in just 40 seconds with a non-invasive scan! (No needles!)

📅 Book an appointment with us today to get your HT Vista scan and get peace of mind. 🐕❤️
