Last night a group of Westchester County DES employees known as County EMS brought up the METU (Mobile Evacuation Transport Unit) to Croton EMS for a walk through and overview of the unit. In attendance for this walk through were CEMS and CFD.
This unit is an evacuation unit that if needed can come as an extra resource. The METU can either transport up to 22 of the walking wounded or act as a rehabilitation unit for large scale structure fires. This is a huge asset for both fire and EMS to have in the case of a large scale emergency.
On behalf of the officers and members of Croton EMS, we want to thank this group of DES employees as well as County EMS Captain Kyle S. for bringing the METU for us to see.
Pictured below are County EMS LT. Ken G, (CEMS Captain Gilleos son Ryan), Sgt. Mike D., Sgt. Mia H., EMT Dan S., EMT Peter S., Sgt. Gabby W., LT. Glynn B., and EMT Brandon D.
We also want to thank CFD for joining us for this informative training.
