π Resident Spotlight of the Week: David Carpenter! π
David is 85 years young and was born in Dayton, Ohio. He grew up with two brothers and one sister and was later blessed with many nieces and nephews. At just seven years old, David and his family moved to Thalia, Texas, where they ran Carpenterβs Grocery Store beginning in 1947.
David married and together he and his wife raised two children, one son and one daughter. Their family grew to include four grandchildren (three boys and one girl) and four great-grandchildren, a true blessing he treasures.
David proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne Division. After his military service, he worked for AT&T in Wichita Falls, Texas, retiring after 30 years with the company. He also spent time working cattle, adding to his strong work ethic.
For about 20 years, David lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico, which he says was his favorite place to live. Though he worked hard throughout his life, David has always been a true family man at heart.
These days, David enjoys keeping things simple and social. You can often find him at Shawβs Pharmacy, sipping coffee and visiting with the guysβdoing what he loves most: spending time with friends and enjoying good conversation. βπ
