Our staff is closely monitoring the developments of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) via the Louisiana Department of Health, World Health Organization (WHO), Louisiana Department of Homeland Security, Acadia Parish Emergency Management and U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
In light of the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we kindly request if you are experiencing mild cold or flu-like symptoms such as fatigue, runny nose, and cough, to please remain home as a precaution to prevent further transmission to others. Our recommendation for treatment is to stay at home as much as possible, monitor temperature, get plenty of rest, and stay hydrated. Tylenol can help alleviate symptoms.
If you are one of our patients experiencing more severe flu-like symptoms such as high fever (>101 degrees) in addition to symptoms of respiratory illness (cough, shortness of breath), and have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19, or have recently traveled to an area with ongoing spread, please contact our office for further examination and screening as deemed necessary. We are following the criteria for screening set forth by the CDC at this time.
Unfortunately, we have chosen to reschedule all visits for those who do not exhibit symptoms of illness at this time. If refills are needed please have your pharmacy contact us so those can be facilitated in a timely fashion. Our clinic remains fully staffed during this time and we are available to you.
Other non-viral type illnesses will be addressed in a responsible manner with special appointment times for these cases.
Our goal is always to keep our entire community healthy and informed. To protect yourself and others, please continue to use best hygienic practices such as regular & thorough hand-washing and cover your face when you cough or sneeze.
