Summer Self-Care Checklist! ✅

Summer is in full swing, but don’t let the busy season sideline your well-being! Here are actionable self-care tips to keep you feeling balanced and refreshed:

• Stay Hydrated: This is non-negotiable! Carry a water bottle and sip often.
• Move Your Body Outdoors: Bike, hike, swim – find an activity you enjoy in the fresh air.
• Schedule “Me Time”: Block out non-negotiable time in your calendar for relaxation and hobbies.
• Digital Detox Moments: Challenge yourself to put your phone away during certain times each day.
• Prioritize Sleep: Even with longer days, stick to a consistent sleep schedule as much as possible.

🎆 Prioritizing Your Mental Health This 4th of July 🎆

As we gather with loved ones to celebrate Independence Day, let’s remember to also celebrate the freedom that comes with prioritizing our mental health. Whether you’re enjoying a BBQ, watching fireworks, or taking a quiet moment for yourself, make sure to check in with your emotions and practice self-care. Remember, setting boundaries and taking time to recharge is essential to your well-being. Let’s make this 4th of July not just a celebration of freedom, but also a commitment to nurturing our minds and spirits.

Embrace the Chaos. Our routines might be a little (or a lot) disrupted, but there’s a unique joy in having them back under our roof. It’s a season of reconnecting, making new memories, and maybe just a little bit of friendly negotiation over chores. Cherish these moments before they head back to campus.

The reunion is sweet, but let’s be real – adjusting to shared living spaces again can sometimes feel like a dance. When college kids come home, the rhythm of household chores can get a little off-beat. It’s not always about not wanting to help; sometimes it’s about different expectations or just getting back into the swing of things. This summer, let’s try turning “chore wars” into chore peace treaties!

The summer return of college kids can be a mixed bag of emotions for families! While you’re thrilled to have them back under your roof, it’s also a time of readjustment and shifting family dynamics. It’s completely normal for things to feel a little different. Your college student has experienced significant independence, and they’ve grown and changed in many ways. You might find yourselves navigating new boundaries, different routines, and perhaps even some unspoken expectations. Remember, it’s all a normal part of this transition! Open communication, a willingness to adapt, and a healthy dose of patience can go a long way.

If you and your family are finding it challenging to navigate this chapter, therapy can provide a supportive space to explore these dynamics, improve communication, and create a more harmonious home environment for everyone.

We’re here to help your family thrive through every transition.
