You don't HAVE to be interested in joining the Mayflower Society to be able to use their "Silver Books". These books cite accepted lineage for up to 6 generations from the Mayflower passenger.

Once I got to my 5 great-grandmother, I immediately picked up another generations of my family tree back to before 1609!! AND, that research is solid. No questionable assertions.

They are available up at the McHenry Public Library in the Genealogy Room. This is the only complete set in McHenry County.

MCIGS Membership Reel

It's time to join MCIGS through our new website. Because it's new to us and to you, you need to set up your account. Here's how:
1. Go to mcigs.org and click on the membership tab. IGNORE THE MEMBER LOGIN BUTTON on the upper right for now even if you have been a past member. That will work for you after you set up your new login information.
2. On the membership tab, scroll down to "JOIN NOW-BECOME A MEMBER".
3. On the next screen, again IGNORE THE "ALREADY A MEMBER". Choose your member type, most likely "individual".
4. The following screen just asks for your agreement to the terms of use.
5. Finally, the next screen will ask for your information. You will be given the option to pay online or mail a check.
Once you set up your account, you will be able to use the upper right corner login on the initial page. We know this is cumbersome for the first time, but after that it will be easy.
