Inconsistent Caloric Intake – Your body needs the right amount of fuel to build muscle and burn fat. Too little or too much can stall progress.

Time Under Tension – It’s not just about how many reps you do—it’s about how you do them. Slow, controlled movements build more strength than rushing through.

Let’s learn how to do a slow-tempo deadlift! The deadlift is a powerhouse movement for building full-body strength, but when performed with a slow, controlled tempo, it transforms into a mindful movement that enhances body awareness, balance, and stability.

How to perform a slow-tempo deadlift?

🧍‍♀️ Set Up: Stand with feet hip-width apart, barbell (or dumbbells) positioned over mid-foot.
⬇️Controlled Descent: Hinge at the hips and lower the weight over 5-6 seconds, keeping the spine neutral and core engaged.
⬆️Slow Ascent: Stand back up over 5-6 seconds, feeling every muscle activation.
😮‍💨 Breathe: Inhale on the descent, exhale as you lift.

Try incorporating 3-4 sets of 6 slow reps into your next strength session for a deeper, more mindful training experience!
