There's been a concerning increase in su***des in McHenry County over last year, and the vast majority of those who take their lives are men. The county's su***de prevention task forces offers training on how to help loved ones.

We’re honored to support International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day. This annual event offers a space for connection, understanding, and hope for those who have lost someone to su***de. Join our community on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the McHenry County Mental Health Board to come together in healing and remembrance.

Join us on Saturday, November 22, 2025 for a day of connection, understanding, and hope.

Each year, this day brings together su***de loss survivors to find healing and community through shared stories and support. This local gathering will include a powerful AFSP-produced documentary and meaningful conversations.

What a week! Today at the NAMI Illinois Conference, NAMI McHenry County was awarded the 2025 Innovation Award for our new mobile peer support van and mobile peer support program. In addition, Edith Sanchez, our Education & Engagement Manager, was honored with the Linda Dzuibala Above & Beyond Award for her incredible work leading our affiliate's education programs, and her passion for reaching underserved communities. Thank you to NAMI Illinois for this incredible honor!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that NAMI McHenry County officially has a home of its own! Thanks to an incredible $1.3 million gift from an anonymous donor, we’ve purchased our first permanent location on Memorial Drive in Crystal Lake. 💙🏠

This milestone means more than new walls — it’s a new chapter of hope, healing, and connection for our community. In early 2026, this space will open its doors to two life-changing programs:

✨ The Living Room – A warm, peer-led alternative to the ER where individuals in crisis can find calm, compassion, and immediate support.

💚 The Drop-In Center – A welcoming, recovery-focused community based on the proven Clubhouse model, helping adults living with mental health conditions find purpose, friendship, and belonging.

This home stands as a promise — that no one in McHenry County will have to face mental health challenges alone. 💙
