πŸŽ’ PACK WEIGHT PROGRESS: From 0 lbs to 6 lbs and counting!

This week I'm adding more weight to my training pack - simulating what I'll actually carry in Patagonia.

Started with NO weight in November during my Zone 2 sessions. Now I'm up to 6 lbs and feeling strong! πŸ’ͺ

The principle? PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD. Your body adapts, so you gradually increase the challenge.

This applies to EVERYTHING:

β€’ More steps this week than last
β€’ Heavier groceries up the stairs
β€’ One extra push-up
β€’ 5 more minutes of walking

Small increases = Big results over time.

Fun fact: Pure water without minerals can actually dilute your electrolyte levels. Add a pinch of sea salt or grab some quality electrolytes!

This matters for my Patagonia training - proper hydration with minerals = no cramping during long hikes!

🚢 MOVE daily (even 20 minutes boosts immunity)
🧘 MANAGE stress (chronic stress suppresses immunity)

Week 8 of Patagonia prep and my heart rate data is showing real improvements:

β€’ Sp*ed increased to 3.0 mph while my heart rate stayed the same (~130 bpm) β€” that means I'm getting fitter!

β€’ Recovery improved β€” my heart rate drops faster after hard intervals (cardiac drift down to +8-9 bpm)

Translation: I can work harder without my heart working harder. That's what cardiovascular fitness looks like! πŸ’ͺ

Context: I'm hiking Patagonia in March and needed to improve my cardiovascular fitness. Started tracking everything in November because I'm a data nerd! πŸ“Š

The power of tracking? You can't argue with numbers! Even small improvements add up to big changes.

We've all been there! The key isn't perfection - it's getting back on track without the guilt spiral.

Fun fact: I used to HATE cardio so much I'd rather do anything else. Now I'm training for a Patagonia hiking adventure! Sometimes the things we resist most are exactly what we need.
