🌿 The Crane’s Gift 🌿

Today, a sandhill crane—usually so shy, so cautious—stepped close enough to eat from my hand.

In that simple moment, the world seemed to grow quiet. A wild creature, with no reason to trust, chose connection. It was not just food that was exchanged, but presence.

In many traditions, cranes symbolize peace, longevity, and the dance of the soul. But beyond symbol, this was a lived teaching: when we stand in stillness, without fear or demand, life itself leans in.

Vedanta tells us: Tat Tvam Asi—That Thou Art. The same Self that looks out from my eyes, looks out from the crane’s. For a moment, we met—not as bird and human, but as Being recognizing Being.

The crane reminded me that trust is born of quiet hearts, and that divinity reveals itself not in grand visions, but in the touch of a beak against an open hand.
