By the age of six, Dr. Ali Sanati-Mehrizy already knew he wanted to be a doctor, inspired by the pediatricians who shaped his own childhood. From a 53-acre land purchase to plans for a future 400-bed hospital campus, the conversation focused on expanding access locally while gathering community input to help shape the exciting path ahead.
This National Environmental Services Week, we’re celebrating the incredible EVS Aides, Waste Technicians and Floor Techs across our entire health system. From our main campus and TGH North to every off-site location, our EVS teams play an invaluable role in keeping our hospital clean and safe for patients, families and team members.
Our Culture of Cleanliness reminds us that safe and responsible care of the environment is everyone's responsibility, and our EVS teams help lead those efforts! Please join us in thanking them for all they do to protect, support and care for our community. Happy EVS Week! 💙

What started as a simple fall led Jayne Cabigas to discover a benign brain tumor that had been growing and quietly affecting her for more than a decade. At Tampa General Hospital, she found expert surgeons, including Dr. Harry van Loveren, along with cutting-edge technology and the power of academic medicine that gave her back her life. Now, she's living with the clarity and joy she thought she'd lost forever. 💙

We had a packed house at our TGH Crystal River State of the Hospital event at Black Diamond Ranch! Elected officials including County Commissioner Rebecca Bays, Citrus County Sheriff David Vincent and Citrus County School Board Member Thomas Kennedy as well as Superintendent Scott Hebert, Florida Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Mark Wilson and Citrus County Chamber President Josh Wooten were among those that joined us for an open dialogue about the future of health care in our region.
As we finalize our strategic plan for TGH North, community feedback remains essential. The plan includes a strong focus on behavioral health and workforce housing, and we value the perspectives shared today to ensure these initiatives truly meet the needs of the community.
A special thank you to our new Market President, Stacey Brandt, and our President & CEO, John Couris, for leading a thoughtful conversation with the community as we chart the path ahead. We're grateful for the opportunity to partner with Citrus County and beyond to deliver world-class care backed by academic medicine, close to home.
