We want to share an important update with our community.

After thoughtful consideration, Cuero Regional Hospital will be closing Kenedy Family Practice effective May 8, 2026. This decision comes after ongoing challenges, including difficulty recruiting a dedicated provider, changes in healthcare reimbursement, and allocating resources outside of the hospital tax district.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the Kenedy community over the past 13 years. It has been an honor to care for you and your families.

Please know that your care will continue. Patients are welcome to see any Cuero Health provider at one of our four clinic locations, and our team is here to help make that transition as smooth as possible.

At Cuero Regional Hospital, living our High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles means speaking up and putting patient safety first—every time.

Today, we’re proud to recognize Jim B., RN, in ICU as our latest HRO Champion! 👏

Gabby W – OB – Questioning Attitude

While caring for a patient, Jim used STAR (Stop, Think, Act, Review) to double-check a medication order and caught an error before it reached the patient. He immediately spoke up, got it corrected, and ensured the medication was given safely. He also helped identify a gap in the protocol to prevent future issues.

Jim’s actions are a powerful reminder of what a culture of safety looks like—see something, question it, act on it.
