1 year ago today we lost 19 kids and 2 educators at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, TX. A loss we will never forget.
According to Tony Plohetski of the Austin American-Statesmen, 150 kids chose to enroll virtually to school instead of attending class on the school grounds. Miah Cerrillo and Kendall Olivarez, two surviving victims from Room 112 at Robb Elementary, are among those students refusing to come back to class on school grounds…until now.
Miah and Kendall and everyone at Robb Elementary are the reasons we invented the Rapid Access Safe Room (RASR). The RASR is here to give those a sense of peace knowing that if a person decides to walk into a school to take the lives of innocent people, that they will have protection from those choosing violence. The RASR can now give surviving victims of school shootings that same peace when deciding to return to school after a tragedy.
Miah says that the only way she will consider returning to school one day is if a RASR is in her classroom. At KT Solutions we are going to make that wish into a reality.
Prayers and thoughts with the families and loved ones who are still having to deal with this traumatic incident a year later.
