At 11:15 am the keys were handed over for Commonwealth Eye Center and Eye Deal . We have begun our true retired life, but now we are too tired to do anything! Lol!
Thanks for the prayers , the help, the well wishes and for the 40 years of letting Russell and his wonderful dedicated staff serve the community of Culpeper.
It has been a week and will probably take us another week to wind down. God showed up through it all blessing us with patience, wisdom, guidance, timing( the right people showing up to buy items and to donate to at the perfect time.) It was truly amazing to watch it unfold . ❤️
Special thanks to Susan Parker, Chris, and Noah Brear ! We couldn’t have done it without you! And as always thank you to Sara, Mary, Crystal , Jennifer , Wes and Katherine. We love you guys! Best wishes with your future. You’re gonna shine so bright.

Special Announcement! DR. BREAR is retiring after 40 years of eye care service to the community of Culpeper. Commonwealth Eye Center and Eyedeal will be closing its doors on May 1, 2025 . Please contact the office for a list of recommended eye doctors and Ophthalmologists for your future eye care. It has been an honor serving the patients of Dr. Brear and we look forward to relaxing retired days.

Did you know Dr. Brear has given ophthalmological care for the Culpeper community for 40 years from 01/15/1985-01/15/2025?!?!? We want to celebrate he and his wonderful staff at Commonwealth Eye Center and Eye Deal on Thursday, Jan. 16 from 12-1 p.m.. Come in person, if you would like and congratulate Dr.Brear. We will have hot coffee and some sweets to enjoy. It has been a pleasure serving you all these years.

We would like to thank all of YOU who contributed monetarily, prayed for us daily and sent us well wishes for a successful mission trip to Guatemala! Our small , but mighty crew performed 84 surgeries ( cataracts and pterygiums) on ages ranges of 23- 90 years old. These Guatemalans have had their surgery dates since Covid and we were excited to help them to see. Some tough cases , but wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

We also got to help feed and serve over 240 Guatemalan children lunch one day at a local feeding center.
