Happy 80th Anniversary to LifeSpire of Virginia and Virginia Baptist Homes!
More than 80 years ago, Dr. J.T. Edwards, Pastor of Culpeper Baptist Church, stood before Baptists in Virginia to present a question: "What are we doing to care for the aging adults in our communities?"
That question inspired the incorporation of Virginia Baptist Homes on March 25, 1946. It would grow into communities across the Commonwealth: The Culpeper, The Chesapeake Retirement Community, Lakewood Retirement Community, The Glebe Retirement Community , and most recently, The Summit in Lynchburg. It would expand to care at home through our program AgeSmart.
Today, his question is answered through LifeSpire of Virginia and our mission to empower individuals with choices in purposeful living, supported by the Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation, to continue his promise to provide for aging adults
We're excited to share the cover of our 80th-anniversary edition of Community Matters, celebrating the foundation laid over the past 80 years and committing to the next 80 years of faith, community, and wellness. Learn more at bit.ly/VBH-80
