HEALTHY CULPEPER is the community coalition component of Culpeper County Department of Social Services. We believe that a healthy community is responsible for the acceptance and ownership of the physical, psychological, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs of its members. HISTORY
Healthy Culpeper was established in 1997 as the result of a community health assessment conducted by Culpeper Regional Hospital. This "alliance of stakeholders" had grown to include a Board of Directors, Community Partners, and three working committees organized on the lifespan including Early Childhood/Youth, Teen/Prevention Coalition, and Adult/Senior. In 2017, Healthy Culpeper was made a working program under Culpeper County Dept. of Social Services. GOALS AND VALUES

We are made up of Community Partners - non-profits, government agencies, and organizations that provide services or conduct programming in the County of Culpeper. We meet each month for a networking lunch to hear presentations, and make announcements or provide information on programs and services. If you'd like to attend or add yourself to our email list, please contact, Denise Walker at 540-727-0372, ext. 385. COMMITTEES
For those interested in delving more deeply into community issues, Healthy Culpeper's two committees offers that opportunity. They include: Early Childhood & Youth Committee, Teen/Prevention Coalition. Additionally, there are Aging Together Teams for the adult/aging population. You can find more information about Aging Together at Agingtogether.org . The committees are the "workhorses" of the organization-focusing in on specific age groups to devise plans, programming and partnerships with others to create innovative and efficient solutions to community issues.
