This season, I'm reflecting on how grateful I am for this work, and the wonderful clients who bring me into their births💜

Each woman and each birth has taught me something new and profound, and I cherish the experience each and every time.

I've enjoyed having this end of the year break from birth work, and I'm looking forward to being a part of so many new stories in 2025💜🥳

This is what Black Maternal Health Week is all about! Identifying and addressing exactly the issues Black Mamas are facing in labor and birth experiences. Excited to hear from about and the light they are bringing to the voices of black and brown birthing people and their experiences.

Black Maternal Health Week founded by is about bringing awareness to the inequities Black Mamas navigate in this world everyday. And let's be very clear, the reason for these disparities is racism, systemic, and interpersonal. This week I want to amplify the voices of Black-led initiatives and communities.

I've loved the learning, sharing, and supporting I get to do as a doula, and knowing I'm certified adds a little boost of confidence behind those experiences, and some extra letters behind my name 👌🏼🤰🏽🤱🏽

Being a is all about helping birthing people to feel empowered enough to make choices they feel good about during their birth experiences.

Where birth happens, who's there, what gets touched and when, and what happens next are all *crucial to the process*, and even when medical necessity is changing the "birth plan" those things should be 100% decided by the birthing person.

Childbirth education classes, complimentary consultations, informational prenatal sessions, physical comfort measures, reminder of rights during labor, postpartum check-ins, and constant continuing education are all part of work as a perinatal professional who values *informed decision-making in pregnancy, birth and postpartum*
