We reached out to local Young Life leader, Will Orr, for his 2 favorite spots to fish right here in Culpeper! In addition to supporting the community youth, Will loves to spend his free time fly fishing in Shenandoah and the surrounding areas.

Here are Will’s favorite places to fish in Culpeper:

1. Yowell Meadow Park
“You can fish Bass, Bluegill and the occasional Snakehead!...”
2. Mountain Run Stream
“…also, if you follow the gravel extension on the nature trail you can fish Mountain Run Stream.”

There you have it! Grab your pole and check out one or more of these spots. Remember to practice social distancing by staying 6 feet apart.

It’s National PTSD Awareness Day. When we created our social media plan, our goal was to inform our audience (that’s you!) about our services and mental health awareness. We hope that this definition may clarify any misconceptions surrounding PTSD.

PTSD can affect anyone over the age of six in any demographic. Reach out to us to find out more if you believe that you or a loved one may be experiencing PTSD.

Happy Father’s Day! We wanted to do something a little different in honor of this day and feature our very own Ian Masson, Clinical Director of Parenting Services.

Ian Masson graduated from George Mason University with degrees in both Sociology and Psychology. In addition to these degrees, he has completed a three year Master's program through the Institute for the Psychological Sciences. Ian has certifications in Child Centered Play Therapy and Relationship Enhancement Therapy for Couples and Families.

Ian is the clinical director of the Intensive Ther**eutic Parenting program which works with parents to develop the skills necessary to raise healthy children. Furthermore, Ian oversees a team of clinicians who seek to assist clients in developing child-centered parenting skills.
