I'd change the last sentence to "you have to process through them." You can't get rid of the past, but you can get through it, get past it.

Don't let past experiences hold you back from living in the present. Get rid of anything that's holding you back! What things from your past would you like to leave behind?

We're 8 days in and I'm now able to focus on my goals for the upcoming year. I'm a little behind, but that's right on time, imho. A few people have asked about my process over the years, so here's a visual representation of how I start:

* My planner, with my fav pen (it writes so smooth);
* Post it's and flip chart paper taped in a prominent location I walk by all day;
* Beverage, in this case red wine spritzer. It's Sunday and I'm alright with that;
* Life Dreams Statement- my long term goals for my life written in Nov 2009.

Note: the art supplies are because I've been missing this aspect of my life in recent months so it's my inspiration and motivation for 2023.

I walk around "clearing the clutter" aka putting s**t away around the house, watch/listening to football, for me it's kinda like white noise with action, and as things come to mind, I post it on the flip chart, or if it's immediate, make a note in the planner. No item/thought is too small.
Because things come up in the strangest places I also capture items on my phone no matter where I am, so it may take a few days.

Then, grouping in life categories and quarter, post in my office. You get what you focus on.

Events in recent weeks remind us how far we have to go toward equity. The senseless killing of George Floyd, one of the latest in a recent, and historical, series of acts of violence perpetrated against Black men and women, sickens and saddens us.

As a solopreneur, one woman business, independent contractor whose whole business is bodywork, this pandemic is concerning on many levels. There's so much info to sort through, so I'm posting it here for my easy reference, and to be able to share with my many therapist friends and students. I've not verified anything, and of course things are changing day by day.
Stay healthy and sane everyone!
