Ooof. This fall and winter has been ROUGH over here. I had pneumonia, bronchitis, and a sinus infection that would not quit from Oct- Jan. I couldnāt see patients for almost a month and my energy is still zapped. Wanted to post a huge shout out to .dpt for picking up my slack at work! Sheās been caring for my patients and hers with attention and flexibility and Iām so grateful.
Iāve never not been able to show up for my roles as Enlighten PT/ owner, physical therapist, educator, mom, and wife for an extended period of time before⦠and boy did I learn some lessons. The loudest was that I needed to sit my a$$ down and rest sometimes. Iām good to no one if Iām depleted. Iāve known that one for a while now, but this was by far the most clear message from my body that did not want to heal. Itās been humbling to have to do less, pace myself, see fewer patients, turn down speaking opportunities, ask for help, reschedule patients, and stay home when my kid wants to go out and play. Iām getting my head above the water a bit the last few weeks and it just makes me so grateful for my body, my health, and all the resources around me.
