Everyone has the right to redemption, which is why we never turn a single soul away due to an inability to pay.

Let’s talk about the cold, dark realities of life. Sometimes it feels like pain and suffering is behind every corner. Sometimes, holding on is asking too much. There are some of us who let these harsh truths weigh them down—keeping a constant frown affixed to their faces…and then there is Sarah O. A ball of joy who spreads a sense of love and care to everyone who crosses her path. That is not to say her journey was always an easy one…

Noel A.’s story is one of seasons—of shifting landscapes in both heart and home. He speaks calmly, but with the weight of a man who has seen many dawns and weathered many storms. His voice carries the quiet determination of someone who knows life is both fragile and fiercely alive. A man of many hats—more than most wear in a single lifetime—and a father to three gifted children, he is living proof that talent, drive, and resilience can survive the fire and rise again.

Who can say the true value of family in one’s life? Especially a life marred by addiction. It can be a fragile thing to hold onto and an even more delicate thing to build for oneself. Rebeka S knows this all too well.

Energy cannot be created nor destroyed—and neither can love. We find love for family, friends, significant others, hobbies, movies—you name it. In the case of many of us at Beit T’Shuvah, in our darkest moments, we siphoned the love we had for our families and friends and gave it all to the bottle, pipe, or pill. For Danny E., he forfeited his love for all three.

No two Shabbat services at Beit T’Shuvah are ever the same. But what you’re always promised is love, community, and a whole lot of dancing.

Join us Fridays at 6:30pm at 8847 Venice Blvd. to experience the magic for yourself.

Milo M. speaks in the language of rivers and ruptures, of fig trees and fire escapes, of childhood forts dug into the Earth like a return to the womb. He is the kind of man who doesn’t just tell you his story—he performs it, conjures it, weaves it from the air like a street magician with pockets full of metaphors. He’ll call himself a beatnik, a wordsmith, a percussionist of the soul. But really, Milo is a human poem—half jazz, half Psalms, all heart.
