Who has got school spirit? We do! We celebrated College Colors Day with a tailgate party and a friendly school spirit contest for our first ever spirit stick! We had turn out from many great schools, but the Butler Bulldogs took it! We can't wait to start watching some college football!

We had a delightful afternoon yesterday enjoying a tea party, hosted by Stacy Morgan! Our residents and staff enjoyed a variety or hot and cold teas, lemonade, assorted tea snacks, and cakes. They also played some games including a very fun tea party themed bingo.

We want to thank Stacy for coming back again – our residents had a blast!

Have you heard of Mahjong? Mahjong is a strategic tile game from China that has gotten quite popular here in the States! Strike! National Bowling Day is in August and our residents had a blast bowling at our own personal bowling alley. Our residents bowled their best and the same winner today was Sandy! Dog day was this past week so of course we had to celebrate with our favorite dog Odin! Odin the therapy dog has been coming to visit us with his handler Michelle and "Owner", as we call him, Lloyd for about 3 years now and he is a favorite amongst the residents. For this months cooking club we decided to make something for our favorite dog Odin the therapy dog! Our residents had a blast making these healthy 3 ingredient dog treats made with peanut butter, oats and pumpkin! We hope Odin enjoys them as much as we enjoyed making them.

We are branching out! Into our family trees that is! We were so excited for our first ever Genealogy Live event here at Miller's! We are proudly presenting this program as part of our partnership with The Culver-Union Township Public Library. Our residents learned a lot about themselves, each other, and even some staff members! It was great for all of to start the journey of learning more about our family trees.

If you have questions about Genealogy Live here at Miller's please stop in and ask to speak to Anne about this exciting program that we will be offering monthly. One of the many wonderful things about living her at the Culver Miller's is being so close to the Beach! We are just a few minutes from the beautiful shores of Lake Maxinkuckee and we love to take advantage of that for day outings with our residents! Beach day was this month and we couldn't pass up the opportunity!

Our residents had a relaxing day lakeside watching the boats pass by, enjoying lunch from our local Bourbon Street Pizza, and we even had a coffee break thanks to the Culver Coffee Company being right across the street. It is a joy to be so close to such a great natural resource! We are hoping for one more beach day before it gets cool!

National Potato Day was this month! 🥔 There are so many great ways to enjoy the humble potato – mashed, roasted, broiled, and of course baked! Our staff celebrated this favorite powerhouse of veggie with a baked potato bar. The potato were of course cooked to perfection by our wonderful dietary department! Yum!
