Cumberland North Yarmouth Little League

To help youngsters develop citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well being through sports. To help youngsters learn their own strengths & weaknesses, the meanings of sportsmanship and cooperation, the essence of competition, and the qualities that constitute effective leadership. Cumberland North Yarmouth Little League is a non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to provide a safe, instructional and fun environment for the children of Cumberland and No. Chartered under the umbrella of Little League International, Inc, and Little League District 6 of Southern Maine, we share a mission to "to promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball and Softball." We rely on the support of our network of families, local businesses, corporate and community sponsors. Through this support, CNY Little League continues this tradition and mission so that more than 350 boys and girls, ages 5-13, in nine different divisions of baseball and softball programs can play every season.

Vanderbilt coach and two time national champion Tim Corbin says some brilliant things about coaching and young athletes setting goals : Coach Tim Corbin on Coaching, Kids, and Chasing Dreams 🧢⚾

“The responsibility of any coach is development—more than anything. Everyone wants to win, and certainly here, with the cameras on and the scoreboard lit, there’s a winner and a loser. But a lot of it is process-driven—creating an environment that’s fun for the kids, one where they want to be around the game, challenging them, and holding them to standards. Even as young kids, you want them to have fun, but you want to teach too. This is the last time they’re really kids—so you make it fun, but you make it matter.

And as they mature and look toward the next level—whether that’s college, pro ball, or something else—I tell them: write your goals down. Picture yourself doing what you want to do down the road, and keep those goals somewhere you’ll see them every day. Envision it, chase it, but don’t forget to enjoy the game. Because not everyone will keep playing after this, and you want the memories to be as good as the dream.”

🎯 Teach. Challenge. Inspire. Enjoy.

Our boys fought hard against an excellent CT squad and took a 3-1 lead into the last inning, but the baseball gods had other plans. CT was able to score 3 in the 6th to take the New England Regional Championship and move on to play PA for the Eastern Region Championship.

Once again, our Maine/CNY team proved it belonged and is one of the best 10U teams in the East. Finishing with a 3-2 Regional Play record and 12-3 overall, they did us proud!

Combined, our three baseball All Star teams went 23-8 in All Star play this year, won two District Championships and two State Championships. The future of CNY/Greely baseball is bright.

Onto the rest of summer for these boys. Job well done!!!
