Taking a new tech set up for a spin today during our live Myofascial stretch session at 4p.

It kind of feels like wearing new sneakers on race day. A bit of a no-no.

But it’s been tested to the best of my ability. And it’s also true that tech knows it’s got the upper hand in this relationship. (I try to talk nice to it but equally swear at it when necessary).

We go live in just over an hour. You still have time to join!

In the lineup we’ve got hip and torso mobility, upper body openers, glute release, chest exploration, and some neck attention.

You’ll be amazed at what a foam roller, expert guidance, focused time, and a group of body-minded people can do.

Myofascial self-care isn’t a complex practice but a profound experience. The tools used aren’t fancy or expensive, but the compression creates a portal into the body. The body’s fascia responds to the compression by giving off various sensations. The sensations felt are a type of physical and intimate conversation.

It’s something you need to feel to fully understand.

This is a live and virtual New Year’s Day offering.

Thanksgiving is late this year, and the December First Sunday Myofascial Stretch class is right on its heels.

Tomorrow in the Yurt! Back to back Myofascial Stretch & Roll classes.

I haven’t made the sequence yet, but the hips/hip flexors, and lower back will definitely make the cut.

Between the Myofascial Shoulders Workshop last weekend and getting ready to release the Myofascial Shoulders Video Series… the hips are feeling some kind of way and a little neglected.

Although both classes are full tomorrow, we will do this again on the First Sunday of December. And you can catch a Myofascial Stretch class every Thursday 5:30pm and Friday 9am.

Learn how to effectively help yourself feel better in your body. That tension isn’t going anywhere unless you purposefully release it.

You definitely want to come! Stretch, roll, find a deep exhale, and let the heaviness move through you.

You’ll be guided through gentle movement and fascial exploration. Your senses will be heightened yet stabilized. And the ability to let go will be encouraged.

Late September ocean swims have been 🎯🎯hitting just right!

The water was so calm this morning.

It was interesting to recognize the difference from the situation down south where the ocean is showing no mercy.

The force in the calm was palpable. The birds, the warmth of the sun in the coolness of the water, the clarity of the water. It was all alive out there.

It’s the 9th anniversary of the Yurt. The night before the doors opened for clients was a lunar eclipse. We’re currently in the midst of eclipse season. Definitely feeling this nodal cycle of the moon. Whew!

Makes sense as to why it feels grounding to swim. And sending calm and forgiving waters down south.

Showing up can be the hardest part.

But once you’re on the mat the rest unfolds. Your body begins to move, you feel yourself settle in, and your mind begins to quiet as your attention is drawn inward.

First Sunday of the Month Myofascial Stretch & Roll is one hour and fifteen minutes of guided, body-oriented, fascial-focus.

You may notice where your body holds pain, but pain is not the star of this show.

Rather, you’ll engage the mind-body connection, your movements are in response to your body’s needs, and the release happens when the sensations you feel indicate you’re able to let go.

There are 2 classes to choose from on Sunday, October 6th. 9:30 or 11:30am.
