"The Superintendent's Commendation was presented to:
Master Troopers Brandon Jeffries, and Mark Lechliter of the Cumberland Barrack.
The Superintendent's Salute was presented to:
Sergeant Christopher Hill
Corporal Joshua Gordon
Senior Deputy Derrick Pierce
Deputy First Class Tanner Clites
Deputy First Class Wesley Miller
For their efforts in the apprehension of what the media have described as "transgender cult members" linked to numerous murders in multiple states.
Major David Morgan proudly stated, "In a society where this profession does not get the credit or recognition it deserves, today was not that day. I was honored to be with warriors from Western Maryland when they were awarded the Superintendent's Salute."

No effort in law enforcement is now or will ever be able to be successfully completed without the silent heros in the shadows.
In this incident numerous professionals hidden in the background were undoubtedly vital in its safe outcome. These professionals do their jobs day in and day out with little to no recognition.
We will not allow this to be one of those incidents.
The efforts of dispatchers from both MSP and ACDES should not go unnoticed. Nor should the efforts of senior law enforcement leadership that is often forgotten.
Now, lets talk leadership! During this incident numerous Commanders (Lt, Cpt,Maj, Sheriff etc) were involved in every step of the operation.
In the photo above you see Major David Morgan standing shoulder to shoulder with his fellow deputies. Though on this occasion he was not awarded for his leadership or his efforts, as they then remained out of the public view and unknown.
Major Morgan quickly acessed the serious nature of the incident provided to him by junior deputies on the scene. He trusted their judgement and wasted no time authorizing additional resourses.
Maj Morgan did not then simply return to his normal Sunday off. He jumped into his patrol vehicle and rushed to UPMC to ensure the secure custody of prisoner Lasoto who was enroute.
From dispatch initiative, to the professional and experienced leadership of Maj David Morgan and others, the citizenry of Allegany County should be proud of the daily efforts to ensure their safety. Those efforts that are seen, and those that are not.
Finally the partership between troopers, deputies, and officers of Allegany County should stand as a model throughout this great Nation.
