May is National Osteoporosis Awareness & Prevention Month! Although osteoporosis affects millions of people worldwide, there are ways to combat it every day. Did you know osteoporosis weakens bones, making them more prone to fractures? Here are some tips to get started:
💃Stay Active: Engage in weight-bearing exercises like walking, dancing, or weightlifting. Physical activity helps build bone density and strength.
🥬Eat Calcium-rich Foods: Include dairy products, leafy greens, nuts, and fortified foods. Calcium is essential for maintaining strong bones.
🌞Get Your Vitamin D: Sunlight is a natural source, but you can also find it in fatty fish, egg yolks, and fortified products. Vitamin D aids in calcium absorption.
☕Limit Alcohol & Caffeine: Excessive alcohol and caffeine consumption can weaken bones. Moderation is key!
