Calling all family members of residents and AHNR staff with children ages 12 and under!
Just a reminder that our Annual Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny is happening:
📅 Saturday, April 4
⏰ 11:00 AM
We’ll meet at the front entrance of the facility, then walk together to hunt for hidden eggs filled with sweet surprises! 🍬🐣

Meet Miss Pheobe. She is an education student at Allegany College of Maryland. Confronted with the task of a service learning project, Phoebe knew what she wanted to do, and where. Her grandparents, Dale and Martha, were residents at our facility recently, and she would come to visit them here. She knew she wanted to bring some fresh Spring cheer to the residents. For her project, her first graders made Spring cards and crafts to be handed out. Thanks for thinking of us, Miss Phoebe!

There was some snow on the ground outside, but inside we had our hands in the dirt! The amazing staff of Creekside Flower Farm taught residents (and staff) how to sow seeds! An assortment of flower seeds were sprinkled into soil, rolled up, and the bundles were placed standing in a shallow pan of water in a sunny spot. The water will draw up and keep the soil moist. In the warm sunlight, the seedlings will begin to sprout and can later be transferred to their new homes in flower beds at the facility!
We can't say enough about the staff at Creekside! They are friendly, generous, knowledgeable, and they love to spread their seeds and good deeds! We even caught them sprinkling more seeds as they left the facility! Thanks to Marcy, Casey, Jovie, and Fynnlea for spending your time with us!

The residents could not contain their excitement to see a live dance show, put on by The Never Too Late Girls! Under the direction of Nancy of Lepley's Dance Studio, 6 women and several younger backup dancers showed off their Irish flare through their rhythm, tap, and coordinated moves to prerecorded and live music. The second Wednesday in March is Registered Dietician Day! RDs are responsible for food and nutrition services for our residents, as well as promoting healthy eating habits. This includes managing resident weights, making sure nutritional needs are met, and educating the residents, their families, and our staff on special diets.
We are very proud to have our Registered Dietician, Hana, taking care of our residents! She is pictured with Dietary Manager David.
